Things I've Learned from Patsy
1.She loved people and people loved her. She didn't know a stranger...she always had a hug waiting, for her friends, and fans.
2. Live one day at a time: "Today is all we have...might as well make the best of it"..and the best of it almost always included music.
3. Whining is a waste of time and energy: " I could set home and feel sorry for myself, but then that's just what I'd be...Sorry."
4. Laughter and music is the best medicine: "Bad days happen...but if you can laugh a little, and share a little music, you'll feel better before you know it."
5. If you have a talent, use it: Patsy had many talents. Her clear, flawless voice, brought joy to endless people, and there were days, when she wasn't very strong...but just hand her a microphone...and she was "off and running!"
6. She was also an artist..she was always busy, working on fine crochet projects...with a sharp eye and mind, she'd count off tiny stitches, pouring love into each one, and then giving them away.
7. Don't dwell on things which you can't change: It doesn't help...go do something good instead.
8. Patsy was small, but her spirit was mighty. She'd show up to sing, with assorted bandages, covering fresh surgeries, because she didn't want to disappoint "her people."
9. Give people what they want: She could never do a Monday night show, without singing her X-rated song. " You'd think they'd get tired of hearing it" she'd say; But we never did. She'd have another song picked out, & someone would yell; "Do Blanket on the Ground" so she'd tuck the other song away, and do Blanket, and give them what they wanted.
10. She wasn't a quitter: She'd just keep on keeping on...she was my hero...my friend...and she will be missed. ~ Bobby Smith
