Sue Barr I was born in 1946 in Kansas and relocated to Arizona with my parents at the age of nine. I always loved music and was always singing as a little girl. At the age of six I was introduced to a guitar and taught myself how to play after learning three chords. My music career started after winning a talent contest at school in the 6th grade. Time went on and I graduated and got married and was blessed with a daughter and a son who now have families of their own. I have two wonderful grandsons, one of whom is blessed with musical talent. I was playing music professionally at the age of 13 and have never stopped since. I had a show group for years and had the privilege of opening for a lot of major country stars. The years went by and I wanted to slow down some and started doing a lot of dinner club and private club performances and have enjoyed, the less stressful end of entertaining. I also got involved in providing the entertainment for a lot of horse clubs and still do some regular gigs for trail rides that they sponsor. I am a horse lover and up until recently had two of the wonderful creatures, so I had the best of both worlds, entertaining and riding horses. I came to visit the Twin Lakes area of Arkansas about 2 years ago and fell in love with it. I recently have made the final move (with a lot of guitars and my cat Shadow) and am enjoying the area and it's people very much. On my visits here I was told about Bobby Smith's Jamboree and went to check it out. I was fortunate enough to be accepted as a guest on the Jamboree and enjoyed it so much. I have enjoyed meeting all of the jammers and people who came to hear us. It is a wonderful area with wonderful people and I feel blessed to be a part of it all. I am very proud to be a permanent member of the jam and I look forward to seeing you all there. Thank you, Bobby, for inviting me to take part in all of this as it brings joy to my heart. ~Sue Barr |
