Jan Reno I grew up in Kansas City, but my roots are in Tecumseh, Mo. The song, "I've been Everywhere," discribes me pretty well. From Kansas City I moved to Winfield, KS, then came San Antonio Texas, Tucson Arizona, Lake Havasu City Arizona, and Laughlin Nevada. It was there I met Gary, a tour boat captain, who was to become my husband. Gary & I moved to California, and last but not least when we started planning for our retirement, we moved to Arkansas. I'm not fully retired yet, but some day soon...I hope to be. I have three sons, four step-children, ten grandchildren, one cat named Snowball, and a dog named Angie.
Snowball was a wild kitten, who would peek at me, with saphire eyes, from under the smoke house, but would not come to trust me for another three months. He is now my alarm clock. (5:30 AM...yawn) He has learned how to make a loud noise by hitting the drop leaf, on the kitchen table, God love him. Aren't animals fun?? At first I felt like God sent me this tiny kitten, knowing how I loved cats, but two years later, now that he has developed his personality, I think just the opposite!
Angie is our Angel. She is very athletic; she can catch a ball or frisby in mid-air, turn summer saults, and do barrel rolls, yet be as gentle as a lamb, with the grand baby. She takes her half of the bed, out of the middle, lying crossways, and only chases the cat...if he decides to run!
My musical roots come from my Dad, who played guitar, and sang me too sleep most nights. I think I was born singing, and I hope to leave this world...the same way. ~ Jan |
