Don Allensworth:
I was born on June 9th, in Lincoln,  Nebraska. Growing up in Nebraska, I attended grade school at Elliot, Jr. High at Whittier, and graduated from Lincoln, high.

I started playing Trumpet in fifth grade, and continued through Jr. High. I also played Baritone in High School.

My best buddy, growing up was Fritz, a German short-hair, who lived to the ripe old age of fourteen.
I now have a fine friend, a eleven year old, Golden Retriever, named Stonewall, (after you know who)

I am  married to my best friend, Linda,  for thirty nine wonderful and eventful years. We moved to Colorado Springs, in 1968.
We have a wonderful daughter, Krista, still living in Colorado Springs. She attended court school, then went on to be a Paralegal.
  Are we proud...you bet!

I worked many jobs, Construction, Supermarket, Driving a concrete mixer truck, for fourteen years, and most recently, fifteen years as Deputy Sheriff of
El Paso County, in Colorado Springs.

Linda worked thirty two years for Target, and in 2004, we retired to Bull Shoals.

I'd been enjoying the Monday Night Jamboree, since it started, but knew nothing about playing a guitar or singing!
Tom Rensing, helped me by showing me an easy way to play the guitar and  I finally got up the nerve to get on stage, thanks to Bobby who told me to,
"Go For It!"
I'm now taking lessons, and learning more about the joy, and pains of playing guitar. (I guess you can teach an old dog, new tricks)

Bull Shoals is a great friendly place to retire.   The Monday Night Jamboree, is the most enjoyable thing I've found. (Fishing is now secondary to Good Ole Country Music)

I have many good friends at the Jamboree, and  they all have been very patient, and helpful, with a "Newbee" like myself.

A special thanks  to Bobby who makes this all possible, and to the faithful folks in the audience, who come to hear us evey Monday night...rain or shine.
                                                                                              ~ Don Allensworth
