Danny Argent:
I was born Aug. 16, in New Westminster B.C. Canada, but attended school in Azusa, California.
My Dad was Canadian, and Mom was American. They could never decide where they wanted to live, so we traveled a lot in the early 60's, eventually settling  permanantly in the USA.

Sunny California was a great place to grow up. My favorite pet was my Beagle dog, Clancy. I trained him to do about everything but talk.

Music was everywhere in the 60's and 70's. My two brothers Larry & John, and my sister Colleen, had the opportunity to grow up with the Hippies.
I remember setting in front row seats, at a small theater, on Sunset Blvd., when Jim Morrison was just starting out with "The Doors."
John Savage, singer/songwriter, was my roomate. His style was an influence, but I also liked Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Buck Owens, and had their four & eight tracks, mingled in with my Rock & Roll.
I've met a lot of celebraties, and realized early in life, they are just normal people...some got good breaks, and some lost everything.

At the age of twenty one, I was the youngest transit bus operator in Los Angeles, Ca. I later went on to drive for Greyhound lines, and had many driving jobs over the years.

We have seven children, between us, Amy, Nathan, Angela, Gerald, Deanna, Lee, & Tracey, twenty grandchildren, and one great grand daughter. (We are blessed!)

My wife Connie and I have been married seventeen years. We moved to Arkansas in 1993, and in 1996 we started a brand  new venture, we opened Connie's Cafe in Bull Shoals.
I learned the restaurant bussiness, and became a cook. We recently sold the restaurant to Connie's sister, and I now work at Lowes in Mountain Home.

I love the people at the Jamboree. This is the best one I have been to. The people have a passion for music. ("God Given")
It is so refreshing to see humility in the musicians.
In past times, and other places, you often would encounter competition, and arrogance amoung musicians. It would seem to take all the fun out of it.
I personally am an intravert, learning to come out of my shell. Each song is like another step...learning to be on stage, in front of an audiance.

I love to see the Lord getting the glory for songs. It is a ministry to reach those people who might not know the Lord.
Bobby always closes with an "Old Favorite Hymn."
I appreciate the people behind the schenes as well, the sound  people, and the set-up crew.  We "must not forget them." They are the un-sung hero's of the Monday Night Jamboree.
                                                                                           ~ Danny Argent
Danny is a very talented singer & impersonator with a delightful sense
of humor.  We feel very fortunate to have him as part of our musical family.
